ACTIVITIES
College life at Westminster Tutors is friendly, lively and inclusive, and new students are warmly welcomed by those already at the college. The head students, who are appointed annually, take responsibility for arranging student events and activities, as well as ensuring that the views of all are heard and taken into account.
Sport
Weekly sport sessions at the Chelsea Leisure Centre on the King’s Road are compulsory for GCSE students and many A level students also take part. There is an annual staff-student sports match to win the coveted Westminster Tutors Cup. Chess and table tennis are also popular amongst students with tournaments being arranged.
PSHCE
Weekly PSHCE (Personal Social Health and Citizenship Education) sessions are an opportunity to bring students together for a lively exchange of ideas and opinions on current affairs, as well as sessions on a wide range of topics including UCAS, careers guidance, study skills, wellbeing and personal safety.
Enrichment
Our Art and Art History teachers regularly arrange sessions in the London museums galleries, and Classical Civilisation students visit the British Museum. We visit the Natural History Museum Wildlife Garden and the Houses of Parliament on a regular basis. It is also possible to arrange to have Music lessons in the college with visiting teachers from the Royal College of Music.
Extra-Curricular
Tutors make use of the nearby South Kensington museums, arranging visits for their students, and students also attend UCL and LSE public lectures and as well as London University taster courses. Each year we arrange at least one theatre trip to a critically acclaimed West End theatre production, and the students themselves arrange additional social events and activities.
