Frequently Asked Questions about Westminster Tutors

Sep 1, 2020

It can often be quite daunting to search for a new school or college, as there is so much information to digest. In this article, we have compiled questions which students and parents tend to ask us most frequently, so we hope this help to give a better understanding of how Westminster Tutors works.

How are the courses run?

All classes are delivered one-to-one, so our courses are all individually designed for each student. We are able to teach all exam boards, and students are free to choose the topics and texts they wish to study.

How much are the fees?

A standard A level course for three subjects is £27,500 per year. Half of the fees are paid in September, and the other half in January. Exam entry fees are charged at £80 per paper, and these are paid in the summer.

A level retake courses are charged at £9,000 per subject for a September to June course and £6,000 per subject for January to June.

How many students are there?

We are a very small college, and our maximum capacity is 45 students.

How much contact time do students have?

A level students generally have three hours of one-to-one tuition per subject per week. Due to our flexible nature, it is possible for students to have more or fewer hours depending on individual need, and the fees would be adjusted proportionately.

What possibilities are there for students to socialise?

We have a common room, where students can meet when they are not in their lessons. We hold weekly PSHCE and Sports sessions in groups, and students are also put into study groups. There are a number of social events that are held for students throughout the year, as well as theatre trips and visits to university lectures.

Can you provide predicted grades?

We support all our students with their UCAS applications. We initially liaise with each student’s previous school to obtain their previous predicted grades and references, and use this in combination with our own predictions.

What is your success rate?

Even though we are a non-selective college and have students of all abilities, our results are consistently high every year. Over half of all our A level grades in the last three years have been A*-A, and our A level retake students always improve their grades, some by as much as 3 or even 4 grades.

Is there an age limit?

We are registered to accept students up to the age of 25.
