A Place at the UNO Table
Students and staff gathered around the table for an UNO tournament at Westminster Tutors on Wednesday 21 October, taking time out from the usual college routine for a game together.
With cards dealt and refreshments on the table, the tournament offered a straightforward opportunity to spend time with others away from lessons. UNO is familiar to many, but its changing colours, reversals and unexpected extra cards mean that a promising hand can quickly become something rather different. It is a game that leaves room for both a little strategy and a considerable amount of luck.
Social occasions like this have a place alongside the academic life of the college. Sharing a table and an activity gives students another way to get to know the people around them, without needing a particular subject interest or an elaborate programme. Sometimes a pack of cards is enough to bring a group together.
Thank you to everyone who took part, and to Sarah Jane for capturing the occasion in photographs.
