An Afternoon Among the Treetops

Oct 14, 2026

On Wednesday 14 October, Westminster Tutors students visited Go Ape in Battersea Park for an afternoon of high ropes, suspended crossings and zip wires. The outing offered a change from the usual college routine and an opportunity to spend time together outdoors during the autumn term.

From getting ready in harnesses at ground level to navigating rope crossings between the trees, the course presented a different kind of challenge. With platforms above the park and obstacles along the way, the activity called for balance, concentration and a willingness to approach something unfamiliar one step at a time.

Trips such as this create opportunities for students to get to know one another beyond their lessons and share an experience in a different setting. For a small college where teaching is often individual or in very small groups, these occasions are an important part of its wider social life.

Thank you to Monika for organising the visit and to the students who took part.
