Getting to Know South Kensington Together

Sep 16, 2026

Getting to know a new college also means getting to know the neighbourhood around it. On Wednesday 16 September, Westminster Tutors held a local-area quiz as part of the start-of-term programme, offering students an opportunity to spend time together beyond their lessons.

With the college based on Old Brompton Road, South Kensington provides a setting full of places to discover. Working together on a quiz about the surrounding area gave students a shared activity through which to become more familiar with both the neighbourhood and one another.

Starting somewhere new involves more than learning a timetable. There are new people to meet, unfamiliar surroundings to navigate and routines to establish. Opportunities to connect outside lessons are an important part of helping students settle into college life.

The local-area quiz combined an introduction to the college’s neighbourhood with time together early in the autumn term. Alongside academic study, these shared experiences have a valuable place in the wider life of Westminster Tutors.
