Visit to the Houses of Parliament

Nov 2, 2022

On Monday 31st October, students from year 12 and 13 visited the Houses of Parliament, accompanied by Anthony Staddon, one of our Politics teachers and an expert on parliamentary process. Students were given a tour, listened in to debates in both the Commons and Lords, and completed a workshop on how laws are made, which included some debating practice! Staff from the office of Felicity Buchan MP also gave the students insights into how to get involved in politics. The feedback from the students was excellent – including surprise at how accessible Parliament is to the public.
